On 14 and 15 April, we met with the other 22 partners to map out future courses of action and establish a <strong>European network of centres of professional excellence in digital and sustainable chemistry<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chemical sector is an \u201cindustry of industries\u201d and is of strategic importance to the European Commission, as well as being a key driver in the Murcia Region Industrial Plan 2026\u20132035.  It has never been more important to avoid relying on products manufactured in third countries outside the European Union. Doing so in an environmentally responsible and efficient manner is essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is why the European Commission has high hopes for this project, developed by Skills Divers and selected as one of the 15 centres of professional excellence in the 2025 call for proposals from among 305 submissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Skills Divers is responsible for the project\u2019s quality assurance, amongst other tasks, and we will work to ensure that the results are of use to the regional and European industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will be coordinated by UCAM over the next four years and has a budget of \u20ac5 million for 22 partners from 10 different European countries.
