The Brave New Words project aims to create innovative learning pathways that enhance the quality of work of educators and staff members who deal with students with Special Learning Disorders (SLD), using 3D printing and Augmented Reality (AR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Specific Learning Disorder is a type of Neurodevelopmental Disorder that impairs the ability to learn or use specific academic skills in one or more areas of reading, writing, mathematics, listening comprehension, and expressive language, which are the foundations for other academic learning. For this reason, students with specific learning disorders need special and inclusive learning pathways and tools to increase their chances of achieving adequate learning outcomes. In addition, people often realise they have a learning disorder as adults, which makes adequate training even more difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brave New Words uses 3D printing and augmented reality technology. It will transform the way people with learning difficulties learn by offering them a multisensory experience. For the development of multisensory methods and methodologies, new technologies (3D printing and AR) can be useful tools for developing new inclusive tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
