Overview
NEXR – Nursing Education with XR is an European cooperation project funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (KA2). The project aims to modernize nursing education by integrating Extended Reality technologies—including Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality— and Large Language Models —generative AI— into education and professional training.
NEXR focuses on improving practical skills, clinical decision-making, and patient safety through immersive simulation-based learning environments. By aligning training with European qualification frameworks and healthcare sector needs, the project drives innovation in nursing education and supports the digital transition in vocational training systems.
Through collaboration between educational institutions and industry experts from different European countries, NEXR will develop evidence-based methodologies, Extended Reality-supported learning outcomes, and scalable training solutions for levels ranging from vocational training to higher education.
