Moodle plugin for automatically issuing European micro-credentials

The digitisation of training involves not only delivering online courses, but also providing modern, verifiable and interoperable systems for certifying learning. With this aim in mind, at Skills Divers We have developed a Moodle plugin capable of automatically generating European digital micro-credentials that comply with European Union standards.

Our solution enables the educational institutions automate much of the process of issuing digital credentials, reducing the administrative burden and facilitating the adoption of more modern and internationally recognised training models.

Automatic issuance of micro-credentials

The plugin automatically detects when courses or learning pathways have been completed within Moodle and generates the corresponding digital certificate in a structured format, ready for validation and signing. This makes it possible to convert the completion of a course into a verifiable digital credential without the need for complex manual processes.

Compliant with European standards

The solution has been designed in line with the European model Digital Credentials for Learning (EDC), promoted by the European Union. This makes it possible for the credentials issued to:

• Becoming part of European learning ecosystems.
• To be stored in digital wallets such as Europass.
• Ensure formats are interoperable and future-proof.
• To facilitate processes of validation and international recognition.

Ready for signing and official approval

The plugin generates credentials that are ready to be digitally signed by the training organisation or issuing body. In this way, organisations can retain control over the official validation process whilst automating the entire process of generating the credential beforehand. This allows you to combine:

Seamless integration with Moodle and LMS

The solution has been specifically developed to integrate seamlessly into Moodle, whilst respecting the usual workflows for academic management and online learning.
