Overview
Quantum technologies aim to be the most disruptive technology in the following decade but remains an esoteric subject largely confined to academic and research settings. QUANTUM+ aims to teach higher education students and business managers about the fundamentals and potential applications of quantum technologies. The project aims to enhance their employability but also equips them with skills crucial for future technological challenges and for the burgeoning demand in the QTs workforce.
QUANTUM+ is an European initiative that brings together representatives from academia and business. Its aim is to create an innovative platform and training programme dedicated to quantum technologies. Funded by the European Union's ERASMUS+ programme, this collaborative project covers Finland, Spain, Greece and Italy. It will run until September 2027.
QUANTUM+ aims to develop an innovative course for higher education that includes fundamental aspects of quantum physics and computing, incorporating direct input from industry to explore the potential applications of quantum technologies. The project will create practical programming laboratories with simulators. It will raise awareness among the business community of the advantages of this technology to reinforce the appeal of the subject and will link the various lessons to EU micro-credentials. The aim is to bridge the gap between education and industry, fostering a highly skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of the quantum era.
